Definition and Production Process of Leno (Dipped Mesh Fabric)

2025/12/24      view:

Leno (Dipped Mesh Fabric) refers to a type of reticular fabric whose surface is treated with glue impregnation, aiming to enhance the adhesion between fibers and glue, as well as improve the fabric’s durability and functionality.

The common production process involves immersing the base fabric (such as polyester, PVC or glass fiber) into a glue tank filled with adhesives like styrene-butadiene rubber, natural latex or PVC coating solution, followed by drying and heat setting to form a stable structure. For instance, when polyester dipped mesh fabric is applied to high-pressure hoses, it needs to be impregnated with phenolic resin emulsion to form a tear-resistant reinforcing layer.
